I would mostly talk about foods in Jakarta, Indonesia. But, when I travel, I would update on them, too =)
Yum Yum
Food is basic needs of our life and let's just say I'm a needy one on this category. I love good food! In this blog, I'd post pic of foods I dine in restaurants and tell what I think about them. I might also cook/bake sometime =)

"Fermented cassava"
This is what we called "fermented cassava". My mom intrigued by the mini size of them because usually it's sold twice bigger than this size so she want to try it. It's sold @ Bogor Permai bread shop.
The taste is like other fermented cassava, has that liquor taste into it. But, this one really is soft and has very little cassava fiber into it.
The next day my mom bake it in the oven and put shredded cheese and choco on top of it. Love it!!! You can be creative with this food, you can eat it just like that, or bake it first, or make it into a cake, etc. =)

sagurangi and col enak dessert @ Bogor
I went to Bogor again last Friday. I stopped by that "ronde" stall at Jalan Suryakencana again and bought this "sagurangi" dessert. It's made out of yam chunks, palm sugar, sago, and coconut milk.
The yam chunks is not too chewy but not too soft either, so it's really good in texture. The sweetness from palm sugar is not too much which is good =). The sago is kind of lumpy, which is supposed to be in this dessert. The coconut milk is fragrance and rich in flavor. So, mix them together and you get a great dessert named "sagurangi".
I even bought one home and eat it the next day, it's still so good! You just got to put the coconut milk in a bowl and don't cover it with anything. It will stay good for a day =)
Not too far from this ronde stall (turn left at Jalan Roda), there's a small stall selling "col enak" dessert. This dessert made out of fermented cassava and banana topped with young coconut meat and palm sugar then poured with coconut milk.
The banana and fermented cassava has already been grilled so it's really fragrant. The sweetness even though looks like too sweet with all that palm sugar, it's not. It's just right! The young coconut meat and fermented cassava is soft in texture while the banana is kind of chewy to balance it. Love it!

"Es Campur Solo" -Singapore- restaurant @Pluit
I went to -Singapore- restaurant @Pluit today and order this dessert "es campur solo".
The ingredients are mixture of black glutinous rice, grass jelly, cendol (traditional dessert), tape (fermented cassava), sweet potato balls, jack-fruit with crushed ice and coconut milk already sweetened with palm sugar. It's really yummy!
If you happened to be in Pluit area and craving for something sweet and refreshing, try this dessert =)

Sweets @ Pasar Baru, Jakarta
Today, my mom went to Pasar Baru and bought lots of foods. It sure is good to have all family members that just love good foods :p.
First is a cake called "bluder tape".It's a sponge cake type.
"Tape" is a fermented cassava. So, this is basically a fermented cassava cake. If you love fermented cassava, u gotta try this cake =)
The sweetness of this cake is just right in my opinion. Too bad, they don't have the "tape" in small cubes inside this cake, I think that would be even better, don't u think so?
This stall @Pasar Baru sells a lot of cakes, but the most popular one is this "bluder tape". Everytime I went there to buy some, I always have to wait 15-20mins for them to finish baking it. And, after I bought mine, there's always someone after me that have to wait for another batch hehe... Since, it's a small stall, they can only bake 1 pan each time. But, I think this stall's "bluder tape" is worth the wait!!!
Do you know other place that sell great "bluder tape"? If so, please tell me :D
Second is "klepon". "Klepon" is basically made of glutinous flour and the inside is liquid of palm sugar and then they are covered with shredded coconut.
I bought this one from -monami- cake shop @Pasar Baru branch.
Their klepon is not really consistent, sometime you got the good one, but other time it just so-so.
And today, I got the gooddddd one :D luckyyy meeee
What I meant with good one is the the skin of that glutinous flour supposed to be thin and chewy, not dry, so when you put the cake inside your mouth, and take the first bite, the palm sugar liquid supposed to burst into your mouth... The shredded coconut is like a supporting element to give it a little crunch.
Sometime, I got the one the palm sugar that's not liquid, so it doesn't burst, I just doesn't feel the fun on eating it when it doesn't do that!! And, other time I got the one with no filling, well I'm guessing human error hehe...
But, if you haven't try this dessert snack yet, -monami- is a good bet.
